Review Ganzo G8012-DY

Review Ganzo G8012-DY

Introduction

How many and how many quality knives can be found among quality chinese  brands and how much we have enjoyed over the years... but, if you look, there are infinitely fewer knives to choose than folder knives. One of the dreams of many people has always been to imagine Ganzo or Sanrenmu (for example) to make a knife, to see a quality knife made by brands that make good folder knives. That dream has come.

A while ago, Ganzo released its G801, but for some reason did not reach the usual stores where we bought, it was difficult to get. However, that has changed with the G8012...

Exterior design and appearance

First of all to clarify that the old G801 and this G8012 have enormous similarities, but they are not the same, in the new version they have changed things like a point less pronounced (less penetrating but stronger), or the detail of the clip for the whetstone in the sheath, the rest are the same.

Review Ganzo G101S – 2019S

Review Ganzo G101S – 2019S

Introduction

We've all heard that Ganzo makes good multi-tools, which are fine for the price as their flagship G302. But ... will it be worth the cheapest multi-tool they have? Is it better a multi-tool without a brand for the same price as the G101S - 2019S? To these questions i would like to answer in this review and in some following in which i will make tests comparing it with others without brand.

Exterior design and appearance

Well, first of all clarify that this same model you can find it as G101S and also as G2019S. Let's continue…

Review Ganzo-Firebird F729

Review Ganzo-Firebird F729

Introduction

There are folk knives. There are knives that sell a lot. But there are knives belonging to the olympus of a particular brand ...

If we talk about Enlan we will come to mind EL01, if we talk about Sanrenmu is inevitable that we come to mind the 710/7010, 7056 and 763/7063. But we came to Ganzo, and i think there will be no one who does not agree that some of the Ganzo olympus blades (in popularity) can be perfectly Ganzo G704, G720 and G729 (among others).

Well, for this G729 we are going to speak today, more specifically of its Firebird version, which, as you already know, is the new brand that will represent Ganzo from now on.

Let's see why the G729 is so popular and if there are changes in the F729 ...

Exterior design and appearance

Of course, the section of aesthetics makes clear the reason for its success. Its appearance is very similar to the Spyderco Paramilitary 2, and I say very similar only because it is not a clone, but very very inspired by it.

Review Harnds CK9168 Talisman

Review Harnds CK9168 Talisman

Introduction

The knife that i present to you today, can not be any other than... special. Special in different senses that we will be weeding little by little. The most ambitious of Harnds to date.

The Harnds brand is known for folder knives with quite success as the Harnds Ck6015 Viper or the Harnds CK7006 Blazer (the latter with a lot of quality but not much sold for its size and weight, one thing is a critical success and another a sales success... ). With the Talisman model we have the highest level knife of the brand so far, leaving the group Ganzo, Enlan etc. And trying to compete with brands like Real Steel.
Let us begin…

Exterior design and appearance

Well, I have to say, that in designs there is nothing written, and some can be very attractive to some people and the same be horrible to others. In my case, as i have said before, my favorite opening of a folder knife is with a flipper, although sometimes it does not go as smoothly as it should and leaves the blade half open or you have to use a lot of wrist. I like "flippers" for both aesthetics and functionality, for me is the most comfortable way to open. But aesthetically there is something of a knife that i can like even more, and that's when the incredible combination of "flipper" + "absence of thumb studs" is given, i love that. But unfortunately there are hardly any models in Chinese quality brands (Enlan, Ganzo, Harnds, Sanrenmu...) that meet those two requirements, in fact, one of the things i love about the Enlan EL01 is that. Well, here we have another model with "flipper" and no "thumb studs", creating an impressive aesthetic and even giving the feeling that the blade is going to be able to use more, for example if you pierce deeply, the “thumb studs” will not interfere.

Review Ganzo G720 VS Ganzo G722

Review Ganzo G720 VS Ganzo G722

Introduction

The g720 and g722 are the "tank" reference of Ganzo, its heaviest folder knives, large and strong in theory. However, if we look at sales we will see that the G720 is much much more sold. Why?.

The reason for this article is to answer that question, and see if it has logical motives that behavior. Also give my opinion on which one seems better to me.

Exterior design and appearance

I must say, that the answer to why the G720 has been sold much more almost i could response it already, it’s very simple: when an affordable folder knife is based on the appearance of another "Premium" range, sales are usually triggered, and The Lion Steel SR1 is to blame for being so popular. But let's investigate a little more...

Above G720. Below G722.

Review Enlan EW054

Review Enlan EW054

Introduction

Enlan, a very popular brand once but after the unbridled ascent of Ganzo and the lack of its models in the usual stores, has made it fall in popularity. I do not know why many of its EL series models can not easily be obtained in stores where we normally get our folder knives and fixed knives but it's a real shame.

Today we are going to see one of its new models of the series EW and to review what it offers us at present Enlan.

Exterior design and appearance

Well, i have to say that the appearance is impressive, if you like folder knives a little oriented to self-defense and good size, few options will look similar in any brand.
