Review Ganzo G712

Review Ganzo G712

Introduction

Definitely a knife that is not lost, that's the phrase i would define the model that today i invite you to know.

It is a model of the Ganzo, a copy/based design (not falsified) of the knife Benchmade 860 Bedlam, although unfortunately a bit more limited. As I said you will not be indifferent to its overall design and Persian style. A folder knife clearly aimed at self defense sector. Unlike model 860 having different versions (plain edge, mixed edge, coated blade and without it) Ganzo only makes a version of this model G712 today.

Exterior design and appearance

It is a knife that surprises in style by having a blade "Persian style" with a big upward curve and be extremely pointy, attached to a handle that necessarily must have an end curvature to fit inside that blade.

There is a (blunt) back edge on top of the blade to improve the penetration, ending the back edge in a thickness of about 4 mm for a blade with a total of 9.5 cm approx, and it can say that the top of the sheet have a jimping (with sharp edges) where we can make more force with your finger although it is a bit small for my taste and i prefer the jimping of the Ganzo G704, but it's better than nothing.

Review Sanrenmu GR5-605

Review Sanrenmu GR5-605

Introducción

The knife that we will discuss today is reputed to be one of the highest quality Chinese brand now possibly, but before of validate this statement see what offers us ...

The Sanrenmu brand has experienced in the last year to two years ago some major changes, first have launched a large number of models, and changed the logo placed on the blade and no longer writes the steel they use, which seems to me a mistake. However, it has started using 8Cr14MoV Steel and 12C27 which are good news since before it was anchored in the 8CR13MoV, but even the latter is an acceptable steel and must take into account that the heat treatment is sometimes more important than the type of steel and Sanrenmu knows how to work with it well.

Exterior design and appearance

The first thing you notice is that this knife is small, very small, almost of being hooked to a key ring, but that does not mean that it hasn’t made with the normal standards of quality of Sanrenmu brand and you can appreciate the very good work like its big brothers.

Review Harnds CK6015 Viper

Review Harnds CK6015 Viper

Introduction

This time we bring you the latest surprise in the world of quality chinese knives of a relatively new brand: Harnds. This company came with their models "nyx", "knight", "pandora", "viper" and "blazer" in general the reviews of these models are good and the two higher-end models are "viper" models "blazer" in which G10 handle quality and improved steel makes its main stars. But surely the model "viper" is one that has had the greatest fame and number of sales, and it is what we will analyze.

Exterior design and appearance

There are two versions, the viper CK6015 classic and the viper CK6016 "black mamba" whose difference with the CK6015 is it brings black coated blade and handle with mixed edge. Its design is out of the ordinary, many say it has a classic design, and when I hear this "classic design" comes to my head the old knives, when there wasn’t "tactical" concept, wood or plastic handles, weak locks... i think even though at first glance may seem classic, if we look a little more closely we see that is a wolf in sheep's clothing and it could be well a tactical knife as I'll show below:

Review Sanrenmu 9063

Review Sanrenmu 9063

Introduction

Today we present one of the most interesting knife from Sanrenmu, and this is for these reasons:

Based on the acclaimed and famous 763/7063, the same aspect but smaller, this knife is the dream of many people, a super-muscled 763/7063. But if you look closely there isn’t a brand name on the blade, that is because with chinese laws is not possible overcome a certain blade length and to avoid legal problems this model is not marked at all. This is the theory and the information that is circulating. I can not affirm or deny it, but at least it looks like it is made for Sanremu brand.

Exterior design and appearance

As for his appearance, as mentioned before, It is a 763/7063 with a significant larger size. The difference in size is very significant both handle and blade. I really think a handle that you can get the whole hand is very important, so perhaps for it i don’t like very much small knives. The initial 763 model had only black G10 or black aluminum handle and "axis lock" locking system, but with new Sanrenmu changes of recent years it brought model 7063 with the same look of the 763 but with handles of different colors, “liner lock” and aluminum, while later and I guess by popular clamor, the 7063 model came with "axis lock" while not again be available the old model 763 black G10.

Review Enlan EL04 MCT

Review Enlan EL04 MCT

Introduction

Today we will talk about a survival knife from one of the most prestigious brands in China: Enlan. Within its wide range of products we have in our hands the el04 model, the initials "EL" refers to "extra large" because it belongs to the category of plus size in the brand (which does not mean that you will have a size exaggerated far).

Exterior design and appearance

Within the model el04 we have two variants, one with handle G10 and another micarta, this last is the chosen one with the acronym "MCT".

Micarta handle attracts attention choosing a pattern similar to snake skin color, much more attractive to me than the black version G10 although the material makes the handle thicker and less grippy.

Review Ganzo G704

Review Ganzo G704

Introduction

The model we present today can be defined as one of the most sought knives for their qualities of strength, safety and commitment from China, the Ganzo G704, perhaps the most representative model from Ganzo brand. Ganzo is one of the best companies of chinese origin with Sanrenmu and Enlan in overall quality.

The analysis G704 is the second revision of the model, initially this model had a 3.5 mm blade and a thum stud to open smaller. It was also not uncommon to find some set of vertical blade, that problem disappeared with this second version and took the blade up to 4 mm thick.

Exterior design and appearance

The exterior is a copy of a now discontinued model from H&K, the 14205. I want to clarify at this point the difference between fake and copy, a fake intended to cheat by copying the appearance and putting the original brand and a copy is based on an original model and puts its mark. In this case they have copied the look but has introduced high quality at a price much lower. Knife measures are in the limit for calling "big" size. We have a total length of 20 cm and 8.5 cm blade long giving me a weight of 147 grams on the bascule.

We have a very nice anatomical and grab handle and the blade has added a  hump to support the finger and add force, better and more comfortable can not be for my taste.
