Review Thrunite Archer PRO
Introduction
In this world of light through our collection of flashlights, there is not only room for large, very powerful monsters but with a certain weight and size, it is also very practical to have small but powerful flashlights for their size and light for inside the home or even for the outside.
Today we will see an example of this...
Design, appearance and build quality
It is clear that we are dealing with a manual EDC, small, light and that fits in any pocket, even a shirt pocket. Perfect for home.
In a visual examination, we see that it follows the quality standard of the house, there are no imperfections, and its threads are smooth, including the one to show the USB charger.
In this case, we have a small orange peel reflector, which for me is the most suitable for interiors, since it makes the light more pleasant and diffused, it is not necessary too much throwing and yes more flooding without a very concentrated "hot spot".
The power supply is obtained thanks to an integrated 1000 mah 14500 lithium battery and not replaceable (in my opinion it is a serious error) to power the XP-L2 led, which can have a maximum of 1022 lumens with a color temperature "cool white”, which is a very good amount of light for such a small size. The range of light that it provides us is 134 meters, which may not seem like much for the launcher monsters that we have reviewed, but the function of this small flashlight is not that, but to be portable, useful and especially for indoors.
The body of the flashlight is made of aluminum with anodized premium type III waterproof IPX8 (up to 2 meters underwater) and resistance to falls up to 1.5 meters. That is usually a brand standard in almost all of their flashlights.
Regarding the package that comes with the accessories, this time we have less things than in other Thrunite models. What we get, apart from the flashlight itself, is:
- A USB-C cable for charging the battery, a very favorable point to be able to charge it without having to open it and remove the battery, apart from the fact that we do not need an external charger.
- Pocket clip.
In this case there is no sleeve or rubber washers. Replacement USB covers will not be necessary because it is under a threaded system that protects the entrance. The number of accessories is poor compared to other models of this brand, the truth is that at least one wrist strap would have been nice.

Handling and use
As always, to talk about handling and use, I like to base myself on the list of characteristics that the brand offers us:
Looking at the specs chart, we have the typical WOW effect of 1022 lumens, but that will only be 1.5 minutes, so it's not significant to me, I'm more interested in how long a hold this little flashlight body can handle.
There we see that the turbo mode is the one that gives those 1022 lumens for a short time, then drops abruptly to 191 lumens for 145 minutes, that the autonomy is very good although we will not have much light power, but we only have a small battery in a small body. Something similar happens with high mode, we have 478 lumens, which is not bad for the size, but only 1 minute, then it goes to 208 lumens for 150 minutes. It is not that we have a lot of light, but it is enough for interiors and it will give us a long duration. Many times autonomy is more important than power (sitting waiting for the electricity to come back home we don't need to see much). Of course, the 13 lumens in low mode would already allow us a 37-hour wait, undoubtedly higher than any blackout that there is in a house in a first-world city.
Regarding the operating modes, we have a smooth ramp. This means that we can go up and down the light power smoothly, the light that we need, and we do not have to adhere to specific preset modes.
Where I do believe that there has been a good success is that the light is balanced between throwing and flooding. Yes, you can see in the distance in a house from one end to the other (unless your house is 200 meters long of course) but it floods, which is what is needed indoors. Even I would have designed it to flood even more, at the cost of losing meters of distance.
The truth is that to use the flashlight, we have a button that is different from what we usually see in the brand, it is not its typical gray side button but a lower one, for me with a worse touch than the one they usually use, also when outside of the body of the flashlight, prevents it from being put in candle mode, which would be very appropriate for inside a house.
The way to use with ramp is as follows:
With the flashlight on, leaving the button pressed activates the ramp up, and if we release and repeat the operation the ramp down is activated.
With the flashlight turned off or on, with a double press we activate the turbo mode, also with three presses, the strobe mode is activated. Firefly mode is achieved by holding the button with the flashlight off.
We have memory for the last ramp level used (not for firefly or strobe mode), so when turning it off and on, it will continue at the power we had.
The USB-C port of the flashlight allows us to charge the battery comfortably using any charger we have for a mobile phone or similar, showing the red color while it is charging and blue when the charging process has finished.
In the following screenshots we can see the low, high ramp modes and the fixed turbo mode, the differences may not be well appreciated due to camera sensor issues, but in reality they can be seen:
Final verdict
For me, this flashlight is a bit bittersweet, on the one hand I really like its small size and weight and the power it can give even for a short time, 1022 lumens, but on the other hand, not having a replaceable battery seems to me a serious mistake, since it would be much better, for example, if it could use easily replaceable AA and NiMh/14500 batteries, as there are other models on the market.
On the other hand, the release and flooding for interiors is very well balanced, and the truth is that due to its size it is perfect for inside a house.
But it also happens that the candle mode is missing because of that switch that stands out and that the number of accessories is poor compared to other models.
Therefore, if you want a small, powerful and well-made indoor flashlight and you don't mind having a non-replaceable battery, this flashlight will work very well for you, but if the battery issue is a problem for you or not a candel mode can be used, perhaps it is not your model.
Although, I repeat that if they are not inconvenient for you, the flashlight is perfect to have at home or indoors.
Things i love
- A very portable size, light weight.
- Good finishes.
- Good balance between throwing and flooding indoors.
Things i would change
- The accessories are a bit poor, just a USB-C cable and a pocket clip.
- For me it is a serious mistake to have a non-replaceable battery.
- A somewhat high price.
